Phosphatidylcholine is a phospholipid attached to a choline particle. Phospholipids contain fatty acids, glycerol and phosphorous. The phosphorous part of the phospholipid substance - lecithin, is made up of PC. For this reason, the term "phosphatidylcholine" is sometimes used interchangeably with "lecithin", although the two are different. PC is found in every single cell of our body as a key component of the cell membrane. Apart from its role in maintaining cell structure, PC:
